BACKGROUND: Once part of a trio of vampire hunters which had made their way across the State, picking him up along the way in his home state of New Jersey, the loud-mouth, goof-ball martial artist had met his fate by just those things that they went out to hunt. For years, they turned profit on hunting down vampires and managed to thieve a fair amount of goods just to make their lives a little more enjoyable, Christian splitting his time between hunting, partying, playing video games far too close to the television and sparring with Eva just to make sure his skills were precise and practiced.

It was rare to find himself making a wrong step, but the one time he did ended with a pair of teeth in his neck and inevitable death which wouldn't keep him down for long. Waking up the next day with flesh far too pale for words and a thirst for blood which nearly surprised him, Christian has spent the last twenty years simply keeping out of the light of the city and out of view of those that he knows within the city. While the motor-mouth and sarcastic attitude are still intact, it is clear to see that, quite frankly, he doesn't care. Can't care even if he wanted to, the last twenty years seeing Christian degenerate to the soulless creature people saw vampires as with no people around him to help keep that humanity together. And that is surely part his own fault, keeping to his own isolation perhaps out of embarrassment or unwillingness to let those he knew see him as one of their enemies. At least it was in the beginning, his attitude changing over the years.

It isn't to say it is all bad though, Christian eventually finding himself amiss a group of vampires -- easily comparable to a gang -- that make their home in the underground beneath Gabriel Cross' part of the city. They don't follow the vampire king just as much as they don't follow the rebellion, preferring to stick their necks out for themselves and themselves alone. Even their own loyalties to each other are questionable, but so far, so good; Everyone is in one piece with the exception of a few who had particularly nefarious ends when it came to leading Slayers to their hideaways or bringing in people they just didn't want around. And just like anyone else in the city with the increase of demon activity, they're getting restless, becoming a bit bravery in the light of a possibly apocalypse and moving into the city far more frequently for bites to eat, Christian easily one of them.

After all, a vampire has to eat sometime.
